  1. I think that my presentation went pretty well. I feel like a made a lot of good smart statements about my website. I believe that the UNI students got a good feel of what my website is about. I basically said that it was the "Atlas Map Maker." I discribed that there were over 1,200 different map layers you could choose from and look at on the map that you chose. I explained how you could pick which area of the world that you wanted and go from there. My topic of choice for the example on my poster was crime. It showed the different rates in which each crime occured. When the UNI students had questions, I had an answer. I let them know that they could choose any option of layer they wanted to and simply click "redraw map." It went very well.

  2. I did a presentation on National Geographic Maps. I explained mostly the 3D option of this site. I told them how it was used and what it could do. I found myself spending most of my time comparing it to other sites similar to this. Google Maps was probably its number one competitor because its Google vs Microsoft. People wanted to know why the National Geographic Maps (made by Bing) was better than Google. I gave them good comparisons such as the animation that allowed freedom of movement on the National Geographic Maps compared to the actual images on Google which limited some movement.

  3. I presented my poster on Google maps. I gave a summary on how the website works, and what it can do. Also I described how to use the website. I went into detail on the different features the website has, and I told the class about the street view feature. I showed the class my pictures, and described what was in them. Over all I thought I did a good job presenting Google maps.

  4. I talked about my website which was Yahoo Maps and it's features. I first explained the basic features of the website such as how to get directions and how to use the satellite imagery available of the website. Then I explained how you can get the directions and how you can turn the basic road map into a hybrid map with the same road map and the satellite image of the area. I finally told them the comparison between Yahoo maps and Google maps.

  5. In my presentation I talked about the layout of the site, what it was useful for and how to access different aspects of it. I told the people I was presenting to how to access the flags and basic profiles of countries. I changed my presentation style with every visitor, so I never said the same thing twice. Sometimes I walked them through using the program and sometimes I explained what made it superior. I thought presenting was a great educational experience that could help me with future presentations. I know what questions people frequently ask and for what purpose they want to use a given program.

  6. I thought I did a pretty good job telling people what the main purpose of TerraFly was. I think I got across to them and showed them what was different from other online map databases. I talked about the different features of TerraFly, the purpose of TerraFly and what TerraFly was. I talked mostly about what set TerraFly apart from other map databases, like the population per block option and the option to show different restaurants and stores where ever they were. I let them read the board first and then I explained to them what TerraFly could do. They mostly had questions on what set TerraFly apart from other map databases, so I talked to them about that too.

  7. My website, Bing Maps, was all about navigating yourself around the world. By simply clicking on any part of the world you could scroll in and get an "up close and personal" look at the environment and culture of the location. Similar to Google Maps or Yahoo Maps, you can get directions from one place to another. This is handy for all sorts of reasons to find places you wish to go. There were different views of the maps where you could "go into" the map onto the streets and look around the street or there is an aerial view which shows you images of any place from above them. The quality of images provided on the site from Bing were pretty good image quality, but it depended on the place you were trying to see. Some spots in the world were better picture quality than others. All in all Bing Maps is a good map tool for someone who wants to get the feel for any location because the site shows so much detail, without you having to get out of your chair.

  8. I did my presentation on National Geographic Xpeditions. The website mainly consist of three main features and they are lesson plans, activities and atlas maps. There are hundreds of lesson plans on the website that any teacher can use in their class. They are very detailed and east to understand. Moreover, you can also find different interesting activities on the site. You can use the activities in your class. I did my poster on Atlas maps. You can look up any country you want and print it off right away. It shows the latitude and longitude of the maps and it's very easy to print it off. I think the website aims to help teachers educate their students in different ways.
